Louisiana Art & Science Museum (LASM)
Marketing Director (June 2006-Present)

Provides strategic planning leadership regarding marketing, branding, public relations and communication tactics used to develop messages that bring recognition to LASM as an exciting and educational destination for visitors of all ages. Utilizing a budget of $75,000, oversees creative development, marketing executions, media planning, etc., performed by teams within LASM. Directs priority communication projects, including major image advertising, which directly impacts visitation, internal communication, and other important functions that contribute to the reputation and progress of LASM. Serves as primary media liaison where appearances, interviews and other communications have resulted in higher than estimated attendance and public interest.
Accomplishments
• Secured 45 feature stories in various Baton Rouge media, including eight Advocate
Fun Section cover stories, in first year.
• Initiated and implemented an internal communication system for LASM, including an
online production calendar, communication guidelines, guidelines for effective
meetings, and instituting staff instant messaging.
• Initiated and supervised an overhaul of LASM’s visual identity, including redesigning
the museum’s logo and website.
• Recurring guest lecturer at LSU, where I conducted presentations regarding branding, public relations, communication skills, and professional development.
